An Expert in Crochet, She Makes Food with Astonishing Realism
Crocheting is a great way to show your love for the craft. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter, it can be fun and rewarding to crochet together. Not only do you get to use some of the most basic crochet stitches, but you can also create beautiful things that will make everyone happy.
Although very tempting, these vegetables and cooked dishes are unfortunately not edible (or in any case, we advise you not to try them). Indeed, the artist Maria Skog takes pleasure in awakening our taste buds by creating very realistic crochet reproductions of various and varied dishes.
About 12 years ago, the designer based in Narpes in Finland, started this project from the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Crochet allowed her to find an escape and a way to share a timeless moment with her two daughters without thinking about illness.
Thus, she embarked on the design of ready meals such as ramen, vegetables of all seasons, fruit baskets, savory sandwiches garnished with bacon and eggs, roast turkey, or even bagels. A true expert in the art of crochet, each piece is unique and incredibly realistic to the point of making our mouths water.
We let you discover below the subtle and appetizing creations of Maria Skog, to find on her Instagram account. And if you are a crochet enthusiast, Lucia Dolgopolova’s tiny micro-crochet creations should please you.
