Breast cancer is considered one of the most common diseases in France and is the leading cause of cancer death among women. Many campaigns are regularly deployed to remind people of the importance of screening but also of self-examination, which can help save lives.

But some designers do not hesitate to put their knowledge at the service of a good cause, like this 22-year-old student Julian Rios who created an innovative bra capable of detecting the first symptoms of breast cancer.

Curious and interested in multiple fields, he had the idea to create this solution in 2016 when his mother had just learned that her breast cancer had returned once again. He then thought of developing a means of detecting the first signs of the disease or recurrence without any radiation and accessible to all women from any background.

The young Mexican then created the start-up Eva Center and surrounded himself with a team of 4 people with whom he developed an algorithm based on artificial intelligence which is linked to 200 thermal sensors placed in the bra. . The sensors will thus make it possible to identify abnormal temperatures and blood circulation in the breast tissue, which can be the first signs of cancer.

To be truly effective, the underwear must be worn for 60 to 90 minutes per week. At the end of each check, the information recorded is sent via Bluetooth to an application that establishes a diagnosis. In case of suspicion, users can be put directly in contact with an oncologist.
