The World's First Frugal Wine Bottle Made From Recycled Cardboard by Frugalpac

Are you interested to know about The World's First Frugal Wine Bottle Made From Recycled Cardboard by Frugalpac? Every small gesture counts to limit our carbon footprint as much as possible by adopting new habits in everyday life. It is with this in mind that the British company Frugalpac unveiled at the beginning of the year, the first bottle of wine in the world… entirely made from recycled cardboard.

The company which defines itself as the most important in terms of innovations in the field of wine and spirits, thus presented a bottle five times lighter than a glass bottle, consisting of packaging made of 94% cardboard recycled and whose carbon footprint is six times smaller.

But don't get me wrong, the wine is not directly contained in the box. It is stored in an inner container made of food-grade plastic which does not alter its quality, in the same way as the cubis sold on the market. In addition, the cardboard bottles have a cap guaranteeing a longer shelf life if they are put in the refrigerator.

The first tests in 2017 prompted the Italian wine producer Cantina Goccia to inaugurate this new technique. While in France, wine wholesaler Somewhere in Provence based in Draguignan in the south of France was the first to experiment with it. However, it is still difficult to date to know the aging of cuvées with such a method of conservation.

Frugalpac is gradually seducing the European market and should continue its momentum for the coming year by providing bottle machines to its various customers so that they can manufacture them themselves and thus considerably reduce their carbon footprint.
