The Beautiful Winning Shots of the BirdLife Australia Photography Awards 2022
Since its creation in 2018, the BirdLife Australia Photography Awards has been committed to highlighting the most beautiful photographs of birds to raise awareness about their protection. And recently, the organizing committee revealed the winners of this 2022 edition.
BirdLife Australia is considered to be the largest independent bird conservation organization in the country, with nearly 280,000 bird-loving members. For the past six years, it has been organizing a competition open to photographers from all over the world and which is divided into nine categories including portrait, birds in flight, human impact, and even youth.
This year, no less than 5,600 shots were judged by an exceptional jury made up of professional nature photographers such as Michael Snedic, Gail Bisson, and Charles Davis. At the end of the results, the winners of each category are awarded the sum of 960 euros while the winner of the Portfolio category receives a check for 4804 euros.
Among them, photographer Danny Lee took first place in the Bird Portrait category with an albatross advancing through the icy waters, as did young Desmond Wang in the Youth category with his shot in black and white illustrating an Australian wood duck in the morning mist.
