IKEA Announces its New Soft Toy Line made of Plastics Recovered from the Ocean
IKEA has announced a collection of stuffed animals in honor of marine animals made from recycled plastic recovered from the oceans. This is in addition to their other initiatives to protect the planet, such as reducing their consumption of oil and gas.
This new range for children could well soften young and old in the face of these five adorable creatures. These stuffed animals are made of recycled polyester from plastics that have been recovered from rivers before they flow into the oceans.
Among the animals depicted are a dolphin, a blue whale, a turtle, an orca, and an octopus. A species that is highly appreciated by children is the dolphin.
It is an initiative that aims to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of protecting the planet, but it is also a part of the short-term objectives of a Swedish company that wishes to become an environmentally friendly company.
The stuffed animals are currently available on the IKEA website for the blue whale €24.99, €4.99 for the dolphin, and are measuring 1 meter in length. The collection includes other accessories, such as a roll of coloring paper, shells of modeling clay in the shape of sea animals, and a fishing game.
The students at IKEA thought of a great way to help spread awareness about the plastic pollution problem. They created a campaign that involved giving away plastic toys to people in need. This was an excellent opportunity for them to share their message and make a difference.
