Google Japan Unveils an Unusual Long Computer Keyboard 1.65 Meters

When it comes to innovation, Google is never outdone even when the concepts are totally crazy like the latest long computer keyboard unveiled by its Japanese subsidiary, which was designed very long and extremely small.

Indeed, the keyboard has a single row of keys, reaching the final size of 1.65 meters long. An imposing size but still optimized compared to the prototype which measured 2.40 meters. This large bar offers a Qwerty version but also ABC, ASCII, and katakana alternatives, one of the two syllabaries used in Japanese.

Beyond its quirky appearance, the keyboard was designed to take up minimal space on a desk while its length design would also allow for stretching while working due to letter spacing. In addition, if it allows two colleagues to work on the same tool at the same time, it also guarantees absolute respect for social distancing between the different offices.

But don’t get me wrong, this is obviously a joke made by Google Japan to remind people of the existence of its virtual keyboard Gboard, available on Android and iOS.
