The Beautiful Tulle Embroidery By Russian Artist Katerina Marchenko
If you think embroidery is a bit of an old-fashioned creative art, you might change your mind when you discover the magnificent works of young Russian artist Katerina Marchenko.
Originally from Moscow, Katerina has always loved to create with her own hands. And it was in 2016 following a sewing course that she learned about embroidery and made her first embroidered tulle blouse. Becoming a real passion, she decided to take courses at the Lesage school in Paris the following year to improve her skills. It is a will and a determination that have given her a real gift in the discipline to believe his creations.
What she especially appreciates is breaking the codes of embroidery and in particular of hoop-art which consists in carrying out her work on an embroidery drum so that the fabric is stretched. To do this, she begins each of her pieces with the outlines. Then she fills the tulle, playing with often bright colors and shadows to create incredible 3D embroidered works.
