Photographer Eric Kogan captures Unexpected Everyday Humor of New York City’s Streets
Are you looking for an Unexpected Everyday Humor of New York City’s Streets? For a shot to be striking there is not always a need for special artifice or staging. He can sometimes speak for himself and bring emotions just by portraying an unexpected and spontaneous moment. And that the New York-based photographer Eric Kogan understood it well with his photographs with the hazardous coincidences captured in the streets of New York.
The creative, born in St. Petersburg, Russia, moved to the United States with his family as a child and immediately fell in love with New York City. After studying at the Pratt Institute, he worked in events, but he did not forget his first love for street photography, which he really embarked on in 2004.
What he particularly enjoys about photography is the way he can capture and immortalize a moment without staging, only through the right angle. If he happens to not touch his camera for several days, he does not forget to observe, interpret and photograph at the appropriate time if he feels the urge because according to him, “The best time behind a camera always comes when you least expect it”.
So a simple trip to work, a run in town, or a Sunday stroll can turn into an improvised photoshoot for Eric Kogan, who has become a master in the art of capturing funny chances.
