Artist Peter Szucsy Turns Pocket Watches into Spiders
Your phobia for spiders will no doubt quickly spread to pocket watches and artist Peter Szucsy will have something to do with it. This antique enthusiast has made a specialty of disassembling these vintage watches to transform them into animals and it is really very successful.
For 25 years Peter Szucsy worked in the video game industry as an art director. A quarter of a century spent imagining fantastic characters have now transformed this expertise by sculpting pocket watches. A conversion from pixel to metal allows it to give life to steampunk spiders with amazing details but also to crabs or even giant flies.
As the artist specifies on the My Modern Met site, he obviously takes care not to dismantle objects that are too precious. It must be said that with more than 300 pocket watches in his collection, he has a fairly comfortable choice to bring these mechanical monsters to life.
