She Draws On Bananas by Making Their Skin Brown in A Natural Way
A few months ago, Anna Chojnicka would never have thought of making art with bananas. This social entrepreneur, who lives between London and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, simply took advantage of the confinement to find an original occupation based on a daily observation.
We’ve all done this observation: when you press on the skin of a banana, the contact area turns black a few hours later. Obviously already good at drawing, Anna had fun with a pin and a comb to draw on the skin of bananas. Small precision, all the same, the process is 100% natural and does not change the quality of the fruit: the skin turns brown but the flesh remains white.
Since the start of the first lockdown, Anna has produced hundreds of these ephemeral artworks and all of them are very successful. The artist produces a new artistic banana every day and shares it on her Twitter and Instagram accounts. Below, you will find a panorama of her creations which give the banana (we dared). 🍌
