This Designer Creates Unusual Lamps From Real Bread

We know it’s not good to play with food. But the original transformations of bread and croissants into lamps by Japanese artist Yukiko Morita are still worth a look.

A baker by profession, Yukiko has always been passionate about art. It was in 2006 when she was studying at the Kyoto City University of Arts that the idea of diverting bread to make lamps came to her. His knowledge of the bakery environment allowed him to understand all the difficult aspects of design.

But it was not until 2016 that she decided to take the plunge by creating her interior design company PAMPSHADE. For this, the designer buys unsold products from several bakeries. We find in particular sandwich bread, croissants, baguettes, or naan cheeses.

Although Yukiko wishes to keep her trade secrets, she revealed that she treats the various pieces of bread with antiseptic and mildew protection to ensure they have a semi-permanent lifespan. Enough to have a gourmet and warm interior!

We let you discover below the original light designs of Yukiko Morita, also to be found on her Instagram account and on her website. And to continue in a similar universe, we share with you the 13 of the Best Art Objects That Show How Stunning Modern Art Can Be.
